You'll join an established Network Operations Centre team in London working at a secure government client. Ideally, you will have experience working in a large client outsourcing environment, working within a client-facing BAU team. You'll be capable of troubleshooting and configuring complex enterprise networks, serving as a valuable team player with experience of working in geographically dispersed environments. Additionally, you will possess the ability to lead and direct major incident resolution while effectively liaising with third-party network service providers. It's essential to have or be able to demonstrate competencies to a CCNA/CCNP level.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3 Network support and incident diagnostics/resolution.
- Implement network changes via ITSM requests.
- Integrate within the team and demonstrate a 'can do' attitude.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Work within ITIL processes and established configuration/change management policies.
- Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and security configurations.
Requirements:
- Hold SC Clearance and be a UK National.
- Extensive experience in IT and networking.
- CCNA/CCNP level competencies.
- Good working knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Cisco ACI software-defined networks (multi-site & multi-pod)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Network management tools like SolarWinds, or similar
- Citrix Netscaler
- Network Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA & AnyConnect Remote Access)
- Identity Services - AAA & Cisco ISE
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding complex routing issues (BGP, OSPF & EIGRP)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including firmware, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Desirable experience:
- Scripting & automation tools (TCL, Python, Perl, Ansible, Jinja2)
- (Enterprise) Wi-Fi technologies including Cisco WLC or others
- Cisco UCS
- Supporting IT Health Checks
- Netscaler Administration
Understanding/experience:
- DevOps experience
- Spanning-tree protocols like MST, PVST & RSTP, trunking, channels, first-hop routing protocols and CDP
- Enterprise and service provider routing protocols like OSPF. BGP and EIGRP
- Network management protocols like SNMP, Netflow, SCP, NTP and AAA
